I want to record video on my PC through the S-cable hookup, How?

I have an S-cable on my PC and want to record video off of a DVR onto DVD via my PC, How can i do this, and what software?

S-video by itself does not mean much. Is it video in or out?

To record you need to have a video capture card or a usb-based video capture dongle. If you have one, it usually comes with s/w.

Finally, video off the DVR may be copy-protected with macrovision.
