  1. Traditional Japanese rooms have two main features - they are open plan, and they are furnished in an extreme  minimalist style. Tatami mats are traditional flooring. Privacy is achieved through the use of opaque paper screens in wooden frames. Where there is furniture - it is low to the ground. Cushions are preferred than chairs. I take it that it is your bedroom you're redecorating? You could achieve a superficial look by putting some paper fans around, a few bamboo rods for wall hangings. An maybe hang a silk kimono up. These are ostentatious though - most Japanese rooms are cleared by day into cupboards. You might trade your bed for a futon but they can be uncomfortable without practice.

Ultra minimal is the look if you cn achieve that?

  2. you could paint the walls red and black and buy any furnishes which is heavily lacked

  3. Depends on what room.  Some place you want to be calm in they use alot of white and dark wood accents.

For a think power tank office a vibrant red is  nice.

  4. go online and go to some japanese real estate sites and see what their houses/rooms look like...
