I want to redo my bedroom, but need to do it inexpensively. any ideas??

i have paint colors and a theme picked out... the theme is penguins, but since penguins is an unusual animal to like, i can't exactly find a wall paper border, comforter, posters, and so on.... i also want a desk, new carpet, and more storage..... i know where to get my storage, but carpet alone would be like, $400! yikes.... so actually there r two questions in one, ideas for money-making, and where to find cute penguin things. your help would be much appreciated!

PS- i'm 12 so my parents will be helping me with some of it, but i still need to come up with most of it.

Hi Meme,

How about a wall mural?  You could paint your room the colors you want, but have one wall with a penguin wall mural.

There are lots of companies, one is listed below.  They are a little expensive, but others can be much less.  Just do a search for wall murals.

By doing this, if want a different theme in a few years, you'll only have to change one wall.  Simple.

Maybe a blue carpet, it would be easier to keep clean.  Then you could put area rugs in white over the blue carpet.  It would be like ice burgs floating in the ocean.

I understand that you like penguins now, but since your spending so much money I advise that you do something that you can grow with. In a couple of years you won't like your room anymore and will find it babyish.

i think an ice blue color for your walls would be nice, or a blue i have on my walls called "honolulu blue" i think that white furniture would look nice also. for a bed comforter i think a blue one would look cool. i know a lot of places make them look like quilts, so i think it would be cool if you were to get a quilt looking one, and get different shades and maybe even textures of blue. if you want to make money ask to do stuff around the house for money, (vaccume, wash the floors, etc.) or walk dogs around your neighborhood . that is fun and you get to be outside.

i think the blue carpet, white rug is a very cool idea!!!!
