I want to redo my closet (i want it to be more than a storage place)

Question

I recently cleaned out my closet, and it has come to my attention that, my closet right now is nothing more than a place to store things...

I want my closet to be more than that, i want it to be a place to do things...I dunno what exactly, but I want it to be like this:

I don't want to just go into my closet to take things out, Iw ant to go into my closet to do something...

any ideas?

extra note: it is not a walk in closet, it's just kind of a space inside my wall with shelves...etc.

my cousin had the coolest closet in her room:  she had two of them (lucky girl) so she converted one into a little sleeping alcove.  they built a platform to hold a twin mattress, and shelves at the end. it had a wall sconce for her bedside light.

another idea is to convert it into a little "office" with a lower shelf for your desk/ writing surface and other higher shelves/ baskets for all your stuff.  you could hang a lamp from a hook inside and run an extension cord to the nearest outlet or if you are lucky to have a light already, perhaps just a desk lamp.
