I want to refinish my white and gold French Provincial bedroom set and have no clue how. Any ideass?

The set is older and I would really like to repaint it/refinish it and add new fixtures, however I have no clue where to begin.. I don't know if I need to strip the paint or sand it down or what.. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. I would also like some suggestions for color or finish.. I've never refinished furniture so I'm pretty much clueless. Thanks so much!!

You will need a professional for this job. Someone that repaints furniture and seals. The paint has to be sprayed on not brushed. I would stick to the white with the gold or an off white
