There are some spaces that are lower than other parts. I want to regrout the areas that are low. I really don't want to spent the time to take out the old grout. Can i just grout over the old and then seal it?

  1. If it is sanded grout and the low spots are at least 1/8 inch deep, then Yes. If there are spots not that deep you will need to get a grout removing tool and scrape the grout down to at least 1/8 inch. Anything shallower than 1/8 will start coming out soon.

However if you used epoxy grout, ( and you should have since its out doors) then yes no problem at all there.

Also, you can go over sanded grout with the same color epoxy grout without doing anything, but epoxy is very expensive.

  2. If th old grout is that fresh I do not see Why not

  3. if you haven't seal it yet ,it will not be a problem,if you seal the grout ,you will have to sand down the grout lines a little,so the new grout will stick to the old, hope that helps.
