I want to relocate to Los Angeles from Ohio . I looked for jobs on the internet.

What are some of the steps, I should take to have a successful move.

unlike ohio, there is no shortage of jobs in California,

know what you want to do and then set your sites for that career.

i can tell you that in the transportation industry alone (for example) we have a shortage of drivers for limos, buses, taxi cabs, ambulances, police officers,and trained experienced truck drivers.

in the medical field, we have a shortage of registered nurses, medical transcribers, and surgical assistants.

i need sales people at my shops,

my mother needs people at here home healt agency and i am looking for a good gardner.

GET YOU BUTT IN GEAR, your jobs are waiting.

but you have to promise us one thing !!!!!

that you will bring some of the Amish root beer  with you,

we have nothing even close to that out here.

I live in California and right now things are really bad.  Its really hard to get a job right now.  SO if you don't have a job lined up for you, moving would not be a good idea.  Go to craigslist.com to look for local jobs =)

Hi, I live in Ohio too & also have thought about relocating to Cali! I definitely would NOT move unless you already have a job waiting for you! If you do not .....chances are that you would have to come right back home to Ohio. Iam not trying to rain on your parade but things are sooooo expensive & the security in having a job already would definitley be in your favor as to the right step in relocating! Do have have children?

1)Have at least 3-4 months living expenses, in case in you don''t find a job right away.

2)Forget about living in West Hollywood or Hollywood.Rent is $850.00-$1,200.00 for a 1 bedroom. Look to live in the Valley & commute.

3)Most important for me (I used to live there)have a friend you can stay with at first & a CAR IS A MUST>

4)Be prepared for people to judge you by how you dress & what you drive.
