Question:

I want to remove silicone oil stains from clothing. Should I try a hot or cold wash first?

  1. Neither...dust the stain with some baby powder or some cornstarch and let it sit overnight to try and soak up the oil.  If any oil spot remains, I would put a couple of squirts of dawn dish soap (not the kind with bleach in it) in a blender with a little water and blend until all foamy.  Dab the stain with the foam, let it sit for about 5 minutes and wipe with a damp cloth.  Let it dry to see if the stain was removed.  If not, I would wash in cold water but don't put it in the dryer until you're sure the stain is gone, or it will get baked in.  Good Luck!
