I want to repaint my room, but i don't know which colour to choose.?

Question

The thing is the furniture is mint green with a small touch of oak. from when the furniture was bought, the wall has been painted in all shades of yellow :s.....booooorrrrinnng...

i want to change the atmophere a little bit, but can't afford to buy a new set of furniture....help pls!!!

Well, I don't know the condition of the furniture or anything like that. But, painting the furniture is also a possibility. If you can't do that, maybe try painting the walls a pale gray and doing something funky with the window and door trimmings like painting them black.  Pictures and wall decoration can spice up the walls too.  I always find amazing stuff at second hand stores like Goodwill and thrift stores. an orange would go perfect with it! Try to draw a "blue print" of your room and color in the walls orange and see if you like it. another color would be a violet or light shade of purple. good luck though! oh yeah to change it around how about this- move the furniture around, just buy some cheap basic things like circle wall mirrors to hang up, how about some posters?, instead of your average boring curtain get a bright color that matches your room and then get a beaded curtain and they would go so great together! I love redecorating!!!!!

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. I think deep purple like "stunning shade" (# 7082) would look terrific with the mint green.
