  1. I quote from the 2007 edition of the Consumer Action Handbook."If the information is accurate, only time, hard work, and a personal debt repayment plan will improve your credit score. Credit repair companies advertise they can erase bad credit for a hefty fee. Don't believe it".

A site I've used for info in the past ...

    Good Luck.

  2. I was recently trying to pay old bills to improve my credit score. It seemed like I was getting little done.

I was interduced to this Credit Restoration Center, not credit repair there is a difference.

They had a Flat rate, affordable, Money Back Guaranteed and a customer service center to answer all of my questions. With the service you get free acces to all 3 of your credit reports with scores. They use Federal Law to get items deleted off your credit profile. I found out many items I was trying to pay had already been paid by my creditors insurance company and they filed it as a tax lose, so I didnt owe them at all (so why were the still trying to collect??). I am now a member of the 700 club and I use to be a member of the mid 500 club.

I have told many family member and friends about this agency and they are all impressed. The best part is they do all the work and there’s no risk if your unhappy as for your money back. Visit there site, they are also members of the Better Business Bureau with a great track record. See for yourself.

  3. Best thing to do is get a prepaid credit card and start from there. Make sure the card though reports to a credit bureau every month.

There is a really good site with lots of information on credit cards and rebuilding credit which I will leave the link below for.

    Good luck

  4. I heard that Lexington Law Firm is decent...my neighbor owns car dealership and when people cannot qualify he recommends them..they have a website.

  5. Look for a non-profit credit counseling service in your area.

When it comes right down to it, this is something you can do yourself if you recognize you will have to spend less than you earn until these bills are paid.  There is no panacea to make them disappear.
