I will be replacing an American Standard toilet that is approximately 50 years old. What problems will I run into regarding differences in schematics, etc?

  1. wall hung toilet!!?? Awesome!!

  2. Wall-hung toilets are mounted on what's referred to as a 'carrier'.  All carriers, and all wall-hung toilets may not be the same, in terms of bolts & how they're spaced.  You'll need to call a good plumbing supply to find a replacement toilet that'll fit.

The other option is to measure the bolts - height from floor & spacing & outlet, and look for a match.

  3. only problem u might come across might be a cast iron pipe within the wall

  4. You will probably have to remove part of the flooring to make the transition of the drain from the wall to under the floor.  You may also be able to do this transition from below the floor in crawl space or basement.  Water supply should convert where it is now.  Fun project!

    Good luck
