A friend said that I should not by any means go with vinyl. However, the Karndean brand vinyl looks like the laminate. I know that if I am looking for added value in my home I should go with the hardwood. But, after reading all of the pros and cons for both, I am still not sure what I should do. Do you have any suggestions? Do you know anything about this brand of floorng?

  1. We have hard wood on our whole upstairs floor and then have a big rug in our living room area.

It makes it look really nice.

  2. There is no substitute for genuine hardwood flooring, I have yet to see a laminate that could pass for the real thing.

There is a reason that you do not find vinyl or laminates in more expensive homes.

Get the hardwood you will not regret your decision.^

  3. I would go with the laminate flooring. It comes in many different styles & you should be able to get the laminate & Installation for around $5.00 a sq ft

Lot easier to clean up, just get a swifter

  4. hardword is more appealing

  5. Hardwood will scratch much more easily than laminate.  It is also much more expensive and harder to put in.  We have looked into having laminate put into our living room area and the price was not bad, it was only during winter and my husband didn't want people running in and out w/work boots during the cold snowy season.  Vinyl is already in our house and it doesn't look as good as laminate or hardwood.  If you have a dog, some have a hard time transitioning to these floors if they have been on carpeting for so long.  My final choice would be laminate.
