I want to restore 1966 16.5ft tahiti ski boat. It needs a new gel coat as well as patching.?

What is the process to repair this. I am doing the transom and floor first. I am unsure how to fiberglass but think this is a good way to learn. what is the process to refinish the boat? I have looked at epoxy paints but there is just so much info? what would any of you recomend?

for gel-coat or paint, id go with a paint, the best is '" Awl-Grip" i've been painting multi- million dollar yachts for years with it, just because of the color choice and it last longer,and is harder then gel-coat. but it also depends on how much you want to dump into the boat. just doing the transom is gonna cost ya alot if you do it right.
