I plan to retire in the next couple of years and move from the Prairies to the Kelowna BC area. I would like a decent condo and I have dog. I am a professional and have a good income. What do you suggest?

  1. I would suggest that you contact a real estate agent in the Kelowna area with the requirements you would like.  Like any city, the price of a decent condo will vary depending on a number of factors.  The price of a condo in Kelowna can run from $330,000 to $915,000 depending on the size, location, age, style and facilities.

  2. Check out this website which will allow you to search by the type and price range of the home you are looking for.   It is a multiple listings service.

  3. Kelowna is out of reach for most people.  I live in northern BC, and at one time everyone seemed to retire to the Okanagan.  Now they don't.  People just aren't moving away like they once did, they stay where their children and grandchildren are, and the northern towns are not just made up of young families anymore.  Based on the qualities you are looking for, I suggest you google for info on other places.  There are nicer places than Kelowna, believe me.  The heat there in the summer is a real killer.

  4. The Okanagan and Kootenay regions now have an insane real estate market.

  5. kelowna has gotten very pricey.  You will find more reasonable prices further south in the okanagan.. especially osoyoos areas and eastward along Highway#3 towards grand forks which is quickly becoming a retirement haven as well.   North of Kelowna as well in Vernon area gives all benefits of Okanagan but not quite so developed or pricey yet as the kelowna/westbank area.

    Good luck
