Having sailed solo from Canada in July 1998, and having been based in various ports in southern Europe since 2002, I'm getting the itch to leave for Capetown SA in late November. While the sail southward following roughly mid-way between Africa and South America isn't a common "cruising ground" I prefer that more direct route than the usual Canaries to Brazil to Capetown passage. And, while eastward from South Africa to Austraila is more the territory of the racing fleets, the faster passage appeals. Detailed information (including pros and cons) or even likely sources of same would be much appreciated.
