  1. Any therapist who works with adolescent or young adult females will rule out or in BPD right away.  Don't worry about having to lead your therapist to a diagnosis, just go in and tell your story and be ready to do some work because true BPD's are some of the hardest personality disorders to work with.  You've got a journey ahead of you is you are really interested in becoming a happier and healthier person.

  2. Hi There

i think its best to see a Psychiatrist and tell him/her everything and be honest, its good your bf is be supportive but don't let him push you into anything your not happy with.

i have bpd and ptsd and i see a Psychiatrist and told him everything..

and he was able to dignose me in one appoitment  just be honest and tell him all

    best of luck

  3. First I would not diagnose yourself from information that you read about symptoms. Sometimes the subjectivity of Psychology is like Astrology in that many others astrological signs attributes can apply to many. Psychology in some ways is the same in that symtoms of many disorders can apply to you or any of us.

Borderline Personality Disorder is almost Psychotic disorder in lieu of a personality disorder (I think). I believe that is why they call it "borderline".

I believe if your life must always have chaos in it or you are unstable then that is a sign that would send me into the doctor's office.

Make an appointment and tell the doc whats going on. Don't diagnose yourself. It could be something less mild and easily cured by a simple change in your mental process.

  4. tell your therapist straight up,whats going on with you. that's what your paying him/her for. and its not like they have never heard it before,

  5. Tell them the truth about everything, not just the stuff that would diagnose u with the disorder.

Think about it though... is there anything you would gain from being diagnosed, eg treatment, special help etc? if not, you're probably better off not being diagnosed at all, as a diagnosis like that would probably cause you more trouble than it's worth with jobs etc.
