I currently bake cakes and sell them to my friends/co workes. Do I need a special license if I want to advertise with a web page or in a flyer?

  1. idk

  2. you do if it is a big bussines

  3. Not, only if you sales surpass 12k a year. You might have to get a health inspection.  Remember to claim that extra income in your taxes otherwise they will get you.....Good luck

  4. First of all, you need to have your kitchen inspected before you can sell goods out of your home by the health inspector.

  5. Yes.  Contact the Dept. of Health.  There are many rules and regulations, such as proper refrigeration, clean workspace, sales tax, etc.

I think if you are sub-contracting to a licensed bakery, you may be able to work under their license.

Also, contact the Small Business Association for helpful advice.

On the other hand, if you are selling only to friends and co-workers, I think (not sure), you could ask for a "donation" instead of a sales price.

    Good Luck.

  6. I dont  know  about  lisence  but  keep  cost  record  book  in case it gets  good  enough you have  to  claim  income on tax. Also  health  code  inspection  may be  needed. But  good idea.
