Is there any easy way to advertise and do this locally without starting an entire business? Also, would you consider ebay to be a good option?

I'd try locally before I tried eBay.  You can try craigslist but remember to only deal with local people.  Craigslist was meant for local, face-to-face deals.  You can try local craft fairs or "Saturday" markets.  Even hanging a picture frame or two where people can see them from the street.  If you can't get enough business using these methods, then try eBay.

TRY E-BAY FIRST,  remember to know what shipping cost so you do not lose out.  if it goes well you can start up an e-bay store.
