I want to send a Dog from Los Angeles to Guatemala? What's the best/cheapest/fastest way to do so?

It's going to be a gift to a kid, an "American" Dog. Should I fly it over or send it on a truck, etc.

An "American" dog???  Do you know how many stray dogs run around the streets in Guatemala?  Have him adopt one of the dogs out there and give the kid the money you would spend sending the dog to him and have him spend it on the dog's care.
