  1. The problem with large screen TV's is that they have very poor dot pitch, meaning less actual pixels per inch of screen.  High end Apple media displays have 120 dots per inch, and thus look super awesomely crisp, whereas a cheap walmart LCD TV will have probably around half that.

That said, if you're using a decent quality LCD or plasma TV, and set it a lower resolution than native, you'll usually get a picture you can use comfortable at 10+ feet.

  2. You need a very new HD TV with computer compliant resolution to make it all worth it.  Honestly, it's much easier to buy a huge LCD monitor and install an 80 dollar cable card adaptor (like the all-in-wonder pro) than it is to use a TV as a monitor.  I tried it before with an older TV and the resolution was horrible, and had those running lines going up and down the image.  Though I'm sure the newer video cards might have some good options for porting to standardized TVs.  You just lose too much resolution going that way though IMO.  I have a huge 24" widescreen PC monitor and the picture's so much clearer than television, I just play my netflix on the computer and run a cable card through it for my bedroom.

  3. My husband did it, Looks GREAT. And its extremely convenient ...Unfortunately he is at work or I could get him to give you lots of tips...if you really need help email me at crashnburn834@yahoo.com  Hope you get it figured out. It really is awesome though, I love that I can watch a movie from his computer on the tv, while he plays WoW or something. :)   Good luck

  4. NOPE......

  5. my dad did that...  tryin to type a word document or go in facebook on a 42" monitor is hard.... good if you have trouble seeing though.  Not sure - really its down to the size of your front room . Also  be careful - if you plan on using an LCD tv - when you go onto u tube or move anythink quickly - they tend to pixlate!!

  6. it would be worth it if you want to play halo on it either on a pc or a 360 but it isn't that great to use it as a computer monitor all the time.  It is a pain to use a screen that big for web browsing
