i would like you to give me the best "shopping list" that you can for the whole system. i was thinking about 1 -15" and 2 -12" subs but i'm not totally sure what i need to get as well to get the full power out of them. so make a list of everything i will need to set this up. if you talk your way through the set up it would be greatly appreciated. thank you

  1. 1 15 would be the way to go in limited space

subwoofer re sx 15 or the fi bl 15 thats the most bang for your buck

    amp sundown saz-1500D

you will need a good battery under the hood such as a kinetik or an optima

you will also need a second battery in the back close to the amp people may say that it does nothing but trust me i promise it helps loads

you will also need a lot of 0ga wire

  2. Forget Type R c**p, forget about JL. Go with a small little known company, how about a 1500 watt RMS sub for $295, and a 1200watt RMS amp (well that is what they list it at, more around 1600 watts rms) for $295. The amps you can daisey chain them on top of it all. Those subs are insane, better than the W7, not in the same class as the x*x though. But still better than the SX.

  3. If you are looking to do a basic sub system, yourself, you don't really need much.

2 12s is the way to go in my opinion. You can get 2 kicker CVRs in a box (dual 2 ohms) on ebay for less than $250 shipped.

You'll need an amp and a good four gauge install kit. Here's one http://cgi.ebay.com/PHOENIX-GOLD-PACKAGE...

If you are planning on keeping the stock head unit. You will need a line output converter.

    That's it. A basic system.

    Subs

    Enclosure

    Amp

    Wiring,

    That's it.

  4. you have a few questions to answer

    well start simple:

Quality, volume or both?what is more important

second, lower med or upper (still under 100 hz) frequency more important (deeep bass, well rounded bass, or tight high bass such as bass guitar solo's)

kind of vehicle it is to be in

by noticing u arent specifying speakers and an amp for those im assuming u want boom not quality

in that case u want kicker or even alpine Type Rs and either 12s or 15s

a good thing to think about is if one sub of 1000 RMS = 150 db

then two similar subs of 500 RMS each together will equal 153db

2 subs will always be louder than one, even if the one is a 15

the 15 will have a better response to lower frequencies tho, that DEEEEP bass sound (most music doesnt have that tho)

i prefer 12s and 10s, 10s are great for fast music that has alot of guitar

    12s are well rounded

i would say with what i can deduce from your question

2  type R Alpines 12" in an alpine ported box

    and an alpine PDX 1000.1

VERY LOUD and actually really good quality from what ive seen

YOU WILL ALSO NEED AN ALTERNATOR NOT A BATTERY... no FARAD CAPACITORS EITHER

alternator Only high end aftermarket ones can be find by emailing the guys at knukonceptz.com
