  1. Those movies aren't appropriate for kids this age, specifically pulp fiction.  Just wait until they are older to watch them with them.

If YOU want to watch them, there is no reason you can't tell your kids, I'm watching a movie that is only for adults, you need to find something to do in another room.

  2. Gosh everyone is saying to not let your kids watch these movies.. I guess I just don't remember these movies that well.. cause I don't see the huge problem.

I mean I'm a strict parent (but she's only 4 so maybe IDK what I'm talking about yet.. lol) but kids these days have seen worse by that age..

I remember going in rated R movies at 13.. and I turned out just fine.. actually I'm a late bloomer in dating & never got in any trouble.

    It's a movie geez!

I think by this age they're quite capable of knowing right from wrong..

  3. You are bloody stupid to even THINK about it!

  4. Its better that they watch them with you than without you.   My parents never filtered what my brother and I watched.  We are both adults now with children of our own.  We are both successful, educated and happy adults.

    What are you afraid of?

If they have nightmares then let them decide if they want to watch them or not.

I agree there is more "bad" things out there in the media than when I was a kid, but I turned out just fine.

I mean, I got my butt kicked by my brother during the commercials for kung fu theater, but I lived and could defend myself if need be..

The most important thing is to  teacher your kids right and wrong and the consequences of their actions...   So many parents save their kids when they get in trouble then they never learn from their mistakes

  5. I HAVEN'T EVER SEEN PULP FICTION BUT, the rule in our house is we don't watch anything that our kids cant watch with us, sometimes you may have to sit after the movie to explain right or wrong, good from bad! But wouldn't you prefer it comes from you instead of someone else? they will learn or hear it sometime!!

  6. I also would think Pulp Fiction a little (no a way LOT) too grown up for an 11 year old.

  7. Well, you can sit with the remote in your hand, stop it whenever something you consider inappropriate is about to happen, tell the kids to leave the room, and wind through until the inappropriate scene is over...

but why bother? Why not just wait until you consider them ready for the whole movie? There are plenty of good lower rated films out there.

  8. How about watching those after the kids are in bed and showing the kids movies like

    Harvey with Jimmy Stewart

You Can't Take it With You

    Arsenic and Old Lace

    The Ghost and Mrs. Muir

Dr. Doolittle with Rex Harrison NOT Eddie Murphy

Bringing up Baby with Katherine Hepburn (Baby is a lion)

  9. You want them to see them, so they are not asking to watch them? I would wait a few years.

  10. Pulp Fiction??? I don't think so.... there is not much movie left if you skip all those scenes :-) Don't even try - you will end up forwarding the whole movie or closing your kid's eyes all the way long...Terminator 2 is a OK as long as you forward two or three scenes.

These days there are DVD players that lets you skip s*x and violence as you play the DVD. May be you should get one of them. You can try - CeanMyMovie dot com. Their DVD player is good for watching movies at home with the family without being embarrassed.
