Question:

I want to sometimes email answerers on Yahoo Answers. How do I do it?

I've gotten answers from so-called "top contributors to Yahoo Answers" so far wrong that I want to do something about it. I get answers from some of them that are far from the truth. I asked recently about digital tv converters. I bought the Zenith DTT901, thier newest model. I get all local and some out of state stations I asked if there was a good tv antenna indoors for pulling farther away tv stations. I get stupid answers especially from "top contributors" that I need cable or sattelite. In Chicago I can get Illinois, NWIndiana, SW Michigan, and SE Wisconsin with EASE using only coat hangers, wiring, and old analog tv antennas hooked up to my converter box. The picture and sound far surpasses any cable or sattelite signal I've EVER observed. So, why do top contributors not KNOW a thing about the digital switch? Why do they not know that after the digital mandatory switch, all those without cable or sattelite WILL NEED ANTENAS? Are they stupid or what?

  1. Not all answers from Y!A are accurate. Answerers may just want to help or may just want to make fun out of it. Sometimes some visitors even the asker just give them thumbs down even their answer is the most accurate one.

It is up to your own judgment to trust them or not.

You can check their answers by searching the net. Sending them email may also help by asking more details of their answers. Just click their avatars. Send email.

  2. Hi, don't be so hard on them, take their advise or just move on. I think they told you that you needed cable or satilite because from Feburary 2009 all tv brodcast will stop thru antennas ( in United States). It was annouced by the gov't. But you can get a converter from the gov't for free.

  3. I was just thinking that too...what do you do when people just answer for the h**l of it? Can you report them? and if so what happens to them? We should be able to deduct points. That will stop the stupid answers.

so to email them you just click on their profile and there will be a link that says email so and so and thats it.

  4. yes they are stupid

they wanna wanted to earn 2 points.

  5. What we share here are not expert opinions although we may come across answers which are really noteworthy.  Admittedly there are people who are just having fun.  But generally you get honest answers for serious questions.  I guess we should just take the answers we get as inputs to our information gathering or brainstorming of sort.  Ultimately, it is our judgment call.

  6. If you call up their profiles and they allow email contact, you can. That's it. Otherwise you just gotta shrug and move on. Getting answers is one thing - believing them is another. I don't want to sound smug, but I wouldn't trust a purchase decision to some faceless person on an Internet site, personally.
