Are you a US citizen or a Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)?

If you're a US Citizen, you apply for an I-130 and an I-485 for her, along with an I-765 I believe. (she gets her green card within one year)

If you're a Permanent Resident, you apply for a Immigrant Family Visa to get her *in line* to apply for the I-130 and I-485 (this can take up to six years)

I had a buddy from Saudi Arabia who had to do it the hard way. He studied in Canada, then went to work in LA. It's easy to get into Canada, and it's even easier to get to the US from Canada via a work visa.

My buddy now is an american citizen.
