I want to start CLT20 afresh, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221 – Cricket News Update
Chris Gayle, the maverick West Indian batsman, aims at rubbing out the sweet memories of Indian Premier League 4 from his mind and starting the upcoming Champions League T20 tournament with fresh and fabulous performances on the field.
The veteran batsman, who is going to represent Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 23-match tournament, is hopeful of his team’s triumph. He is excited about his league debut and eager to unleash his explosive batting in a bid to steer his side to clinch
the coveted title.
Talking to the media, Gayle said, “This is the first time I’m playing in the Champions League. The IPL was good, but I’m back to square one and starting afresh.”
Joining the RCB in the midst of the last IPL event, the explosive batsman transformed the destiny of the team and took it to the final, which they lost unfortunately. But this time, he is eager to drive the RCB on a winning note from the very start of the
CLT20, that will begin from September 23 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
However, Gayle wants his and the team’s fans not to rely so much on him as there are also some other experienced and talented players in the squad. Moreover, he believes in teamwork and claims that the RCB’s strength is constituted by all the players collectively.
The West Indian told, “I want to get into the groove and try and give my team a good start. We have boys who are capable of winning matches for us, can combine together and pull off some upsets and go on to win the Champions League.”
“It’s not really that so much will depend on me. We have capable players and match-winners in our team — a lot of guys with international experience and local guys as well,” Gayle added.
Gayle’s sufficient familiarity with the playing conditions of India is the biggest advantage for him. He played two lengthy tournaments of IPL and World Cup in the sub-continent at the start of the calendar year.
The legendry batter has been away from his national team since the end of the WC due to some disputes with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board (WICB).
The 31-year-old has 91 Test, 228 ODI and 20 T20I games to his name.
