From a lawyer.  You do not need to do anything legal to start a sole proprietorship.  You should only accept cash.  If you take personal checks you need to be able to deposit them or go to the persons bank and cash it there.  You will need a driver's license or an ID card from the DMV if you are not old enough to drive.  First, you need to type or have someone type an advertisement on regular copy paper and possibly put on some type of picture or whatever.  Go to Kinkos or Quick Copy or Office Depot, etc. and get 100 copies for $3 or whatever and go put them on people's doors.  I suggest you get some rubber bands and stick a hole or punch a hol in the top right corner of the handouts, put the rubber band in and hang them on door k***s, etc.  Put a reasonable price and your phone number or say that you will come by a day later after 6 p.m. to see if they are interested.
