  1. only way is get an elecritcian to do it, that is the only legal way otherwise you insurance is void.

  2. Check your local codes.  You would have to use a wire that's rated for exterior use, or run it through conduit.  Run the wire into the main panel, and install it in a breaker....probably would be best to have a dedicated circuit for this.  You might want to shut off the main power switch before doing this.  Use a tester to ensure that there is no power before continuing.

  3. You will need a new breaker of appropriate size (15 or 20 amps).  Remove the wiring cover of the breaker box.  You will see that the cables have a black wire connected to a breaker, a white wire connected to a neutral bus, and a bare copper wire connected either to the neutral bus or to a separate ground bus.  The new cable will be connected in the same way, with the black wire going to the new breaker.  If there is not an available position in which to install a new breaker, you will need to replace one of the existing breakers with a double breaker.

Code requires that outdoor outlets be equipped with a ground fault interrupter.  A GFI unit will cost about $12.  Install a weatherproof cover to keep the rain out.

  4. Listen to rhsaunde

  5. Get a qualified electrician to do the work.

  6. 1. pay up life insurance

2 hold wire firmly but gently while standing in front of the panel

3 yell over and over as loud as you can THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELLS YOU

4when cops show up stop chanting and go out for margaritas

    5 problem solved

    mmmmm margaritas

  7. I agree.  It is easy.  If it isn't obvious or you don't already know, get someone who does because a misconnection has consequences for everyone who gets near the wiring.  And you need a GFCI outlet for the outside box.

  8. Unless you have an unused breaker, you should buy one that is made for the brand of panel that you have....

If there are no open slots, you may be out of luck.

Run the ROMEX cable through conduit to the panel from the desired outlet location.

At the other end, make sure you install the outlet correctly into the wall connecting the white, black, and green wires in the indicated slots in the outlet.

    Then...

Insert the white and black wires into the breaker (see the others for the correct locations) after baring approx 1/2 inch from the ends. Attach the breaker into the panel

Connect the green wire to the common earth block which is located somewhere on the panels frame.

    Done.... new circuit

    Good Luck and be careful
