  2. Join a running club or clinic for marathon training. This will help you to train on target and keep you motivated.  Get yourself proper shoes at the running store to get properly fitted.  Find a schedule that suits you and stick to it.  When the schedule says take a rest day, take it...this will help restore and repair muscles.  Ice you sore muscles for 10minutes/3Xday and take advil when needed.  Cross train (cycling, yoga, swimming, whatever) to help reduce any injuries.  You have lots of time for training....thats smart.
