I want to start acting on TV help

I'm a little nervous though because i don't know how auditions work. So can someone explain to me how they work?

My experience from telly auditions is NOT what you see on the telly, it's quite brutal but there is no need to be nervous!

You must remember a few things about TV Auditions.

They are for telly, and the one thing that will NOT get you a part in a TV show will be acting to an audience, there is no fourth wall in telly (The fourth wall is the audience, you act toward it, make sure the audience can see you etc)

Tv acting is very different, you dont act for an audience you act for the actor in front of you, remember cameras will pick up alot more than the human eye so you have to make everything as realistic as possible, act over the top like your on a stage and they'll send you packing!

Generally, they'll do some group work with you and then narrow it down through that. Remember what i've said and then remember something else

Don't think it's all over if you don't get a part, sometimes, alot of the time it's not because you dont have the talent or skill to get the part, but your literally not what they're looking for (Not the right age, complexion, even hair or eye color!)

You need to get yourself an Agent as soon as possible and these can be found on the internet (NEVER Pay to be in an agents books, ever.) or sometimes in specialist acting magazines and newspapers!

Also, some acting lessons especially for TV wouldn't go a miss!

find an audition, sign up, practice the part, go to auditions, then perform your hear out

you go in and either read a monulouge they give you or something you picked to read for them and then they will call you back and tell you if they want to see you again or that you diddnt get the job.
