I want to start acting?

Question

Every time I just sit around I feel bad because I can be working on acting, which is what I want to get into and go to college for. But the thing is I don't know what to do or how to start. What's a community theater because i don't think I have one?

Help on what to do please to get started?

you shoudl do some classes!participate in plays! build up your resume! get an agent! do auditions! get headshots!

read everythign you see! and click on words in blue but not double udnerlined ones and i suggest that you sign up with alan baltes go to first site and look at right column it explains everything! he wont be an agent just help you out and its a one time fee of 30 dollars and totally worth it!please do not report mee ok i am not doing anything bad and this isnt spam or solicitation its not my site!i just copy and paste my answer cause its teh same for every question and sometimes i alter it! whats wrong with that?

I live in a tiny town not even a city and I was flipping through yellow pages and under acting industries there were industries like 4 streets from me.

There should be a community theatre somewhere in your area.  If not, local colleges sometimes have acting classes or camps for young actors.  And you could always get involved in your high school shows, assuming you have them...

Search on the web for theatres in your area and look in the newspaper in the section about community activities, where it has concerts and festivals and so on.  You might find some theatre performances there and information like a website about the theatre.
