  1. At your stats, you probably shouldn't lose any "walkabout" weight.  You might want to lose some just before a match to fit into the next lower weight class.  But, this is something to ask your trainer, not a bunch of peeps on Y!A.  Your trainer should also guide you as to when you are ready for a match.

  2. Your young I wouldn't worry about weight, grow naturally, study films of great boxers, look what Ali did , he circled his opponent away from their strong right hand he would throw a left jab to their eyes, blinding them from the right-hand he followed with. My son weighed 113lbs in Oct 05, when he was 15 , by feb 06 he was 12th in the world in bench-press, then he wanted to go into boxing, we had taken karate and tae kwon do, but I think I talked him out of it sparing, you have to be able to take punishment, study tapes of sugar ray,  I would look at early tapes of Tyson's training he could throw four punches in a second, study your opponent ,if you can get tapes look for his weaknesses. Run one mile a day for for every round your going to fight. I trained in Karate with the only to ever knock down Bill Super Foot Wallace , wallace retired after the fight. Tony Giorgiads knocked him down.

  3. its not good to lose too much weight b/c you lose your strength when you do that. You should most likely not lose any more than 9 pounds. best thing to do would be talk to a dietitian about how much weight is safe for you to lose

  4. lose about 13 pounds in 2 months then get in that weight lifting routine .  stay in gyms and lifting rooms get that upper body stronger.!!! good luck any further info contact me a clintonbaldwin10@yahoo.com

commenting jessica r, at your age there are different weight classes and different skill levels!!

  5. Do not worry about weight right now im currently box right now but ummmm yea dont worry about it right now just work on your skills and focus on maximizing speed and timing. Power comes with speed so you dont need to worry much about that but a good way to get u good in those areas is shadowbox with 3-4 pound dumbells and to improve timing, do some sparring and reaction drills. Like practice parrying punches with a partner and stuff like that but overall dont worry about the weight

  6. well im 6foot and 150 pounds and started off in a low light weight but you can quickly move up i hope this helped

  7. you are to little.. at that size and weight competing against a a man .one punch would hurt you real bad. side effects such as Collie flower ears.. big wide now from being broken, and Brain and eye hemorrhages. and also with development of growing blows to the head could effect you for the rest of your life.and at 15 you do not have the power in your arms to through a punch the tight way with out damage.. think it over
