  1. You could try taking modern dance. Beginner modern does not require many strenuous movements. It contains simple moves that displays thoughts, emotions, and feelings through movements and gestures. Ensure your instructor knows of your condition before starting.

Otherwise, you're out of luck. All other forms of dance, and more advanced ones, require a huge amount of stress to be put on your whole body. Because of your condition, I don't recommend taking dance again. Why not try a different artistic ability, such as visual arts. Like dance, you can display feelings, emotions, and thoughts through a picture on a canvas. I know I enjoy visual art as much as dance, and you might as well.

I really hope this was helpful, and you use this to guide you to your decision. Good luck!!! :D

  2. You may have to try out a few different styles to figure out what your body can do. Contemporary (think Mia Michaels routines) or Hip hop might be okay.

Remember though, you might always be limited in what you can do. Last year, on So you think you can dance...there was a kid on there with severe Scoliosis and tried out with that robot dance that worked in what he could do. It was wonderful and while he was never able to go on, he could still be very entertaining.

I would also talk to your doctor about it before you do something that would not be good on your body.

If the Doctor gives the go ahead, then I would let your dance teacher know what happened to you and the limitations put on you, that way they don't give you choreragraphy with lots of kicks or something like that.

Watch 'So You Think You Can Dance' on Fox on wednesday and thursday nights because, they will always introduce the routine as contemporary, or Latin or Hip hop, or Krumping...and then it will give, albeit a very advanced example but, it will give an example of that style.

  3. Omigosh. Let me just start off by saying that I am SOOO sorry.

I actually think ballet may be the best. Or maybe tap. Or hip-hop. Don't do jazz. There are WAY too many kicks. In tap there are some. In ballet a few, not very often though. And in hip-hop I don't think there are like ANY kicks... mostly dancing while walking. Ballet includes a lot of turns, tap not really, hip-hop, sometimes.

    hope this helped!

    xoxo Moi

  4. i would suggest that you maybe look at tap or maybe ballroom. ballroom will still has all the grace and poise of ballet and ballet dancers are often pretty good at ballroom.

  5. Maybe tap?? I don't really know of a type of dance that would suit you but I hope you find it. Your spirit will carry you very far. I'm glad you are giving it another shot. Best of luck and wishes! =D
