  1. If you're in the UK I can give a long list of websites!

    For general ideas/instructions and projects:

    http://jewelrymaking.about.com

    http://www.wittyliving.com/crafts/jewelr...

    http://www.artbeads.com/learning-center....

    http://www.beginnersbeads.com/

http://www.wigjig.com/ (shop there also if in the US)

    http://www.bellaonline.com/subjects/308....

    http://www.makebeautifuljewellery.com/

    http://www.rings-things.com/projects.htm

This one has video tutorials - really helpful!

    http://www.auntiesbeads.com/Category.asp...

    For shopping (UK)  try:

    http://www.creativebeadcraft.co.uk

    http://www.beadinguk.com

    http://www.beadsisters.co.uk

    http://www.beadsunlimited.co.uk

Good luck with starting your new hobby - warning - it is addictive!!! (But heaps of fun!)

    - freaky chick :)

  2. Buy a good magazine on jewellery and beading.  The bead magazines have classified ads for all sorts of materials, including wire, pliers, gemstones, beads.  Firemountaingems is a wonderful site.  If you're in the UK, the Bead Shop in Covent Garden is one of the best (and also wonderful site).

  3. My mom does the same thing and she gets most of her stock from ebay; she gets her stuff for pennies on the dollar.

  4. WARNING....Very addictive hobby!! well what for me started years ago as a hobby is now a business so not all bad, I get paid to create beautiful pieces!

I tend to get a lot of my supplies either direct from my suplipers in China or better yet, Ebay.....Ebay tends to be cheaper than individual websites and you can find all you need on one site. Because it is all different business with no overheads, they are very price competitive....ie my supplier for Swarovski 6mm bicones is on Ebay, can but 10 for £1 which is 1/2 the price of stores like hobby craft.

    Check out these suppliers:

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Clares-Beautifu...

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/fan-beads_W0QQs...

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/A-Jewel-Box_W0Q...

There are so many more....sorry have not got the link but find foxy_facets (hope that is right) they are an Ebay US company that have HEAPS of semi precious and pearls all from 99c each auction.....got a heap from them, but communication is terrible.

Hope this gets you started xx

  5. There are tons of tutorials and informational sites on the internet.  Simply do a search using some key words like "jewelry tutorial" or "how to make earrings" etc.  You will get a lot of returns that include blogs with "how to" articles, Utube video tutorials and more!

Supplies are easy to buy on the internet or in any craft store.  When shopping the internet however, be sure you check the shipping rates before buying.  Those rates can be a real deal breaker!

    Good luck!
