I want to start muay thai but i'm fat, should I lose weight 1st?

  1. Lose the weight by training Muay Thai with it.

    Learning to strike with that extra weight might make you stronger than learning to strike after your legs are lighter.

    Trust me, Muay Thai will give you the body you want.  It's actually easier for someone like me to train, rather than pump iron at the gym, to build a nice body.  Nothing wrong with weightlifting, but I'll be in a ring and come out with a completely worked out body every time.

  4. It should actually help you lose weight so no you probably don't need to. Ask at some of the places you are considering joining they should tell you if you are really worried about it. Plus it should give you a feel for the place.
