  1. My advise is stop applying for credit cards. Every time you apply for credit, an inquiry is done on your credit report. Too many inquiries is not good for your report. Here are steps you can take to build your credit when you have no credit. http://www.badcreditfixup.com/how-to-est...

  2. Yes, it isn't good to keep applying. When I began college I was fortunate enough to get a good student Visa through my bank and I built credit from there. Just be careful and watch for scams and high interest rates.

  3. Since you have no credit history at all you are viewed as HIGH RISK.

you can either get a parent to co-sign a small loan with you or you can get a secured credit card, which is where you pay a "deposit" and usually what ever you give as a deposit is your credit limit or a percentage of your deposit. you can get a secured CC from a local bank/ credit union or on-line. if you keep you balance paid off infull and ontime as 12-18 months you can get your depsoit back and may get your card turned into a unsecured card.

There also secured loans which work on the same principal.

  4. some gas stations still do company credit cards and may be more relaxed based on no credit history, because the card is only good at those stations.

try that. if they give you one, use it to buy gas only and pay in full every month.

    some department stores too.

  5. Start by opening a chequing account at a bank, that will establish a credit file with the bureau(s).

If you're in school (college) you will likely be able to get a student credit card. In the even that you don't and get denied then get a secured card from Capital One. Start small with say $300-500 and be veeeeeeeery diligent in not maxing out your card, paying in full and paying on time. Credit should be sued sparingly and for those must have times. The latest CD or new jeans is not for credit purchases.

Stay away from shopping and concentrate on building a strong credit file.
