How would i go about finding a group to play? Im brand new and i really want to start this game. I live in the southern california area btw.

Also does anybody have any information on it, like stuff you need and if people are willing to help you learn the game, and if its really confusing?

  2. Same with me! I live in Georgia and I'm lost as to how to begin playing. Ive played the starter game with some friends but only one or two are very serious about it and I don't blame the others for that. I just wish I could find a group to play with. I hear that with version 4 you can play on line games, but that may not be what your after. If you get any info it would be great if you could e-mail me:

I'm in the same boat as you and I don't know where/how to start really.

  3. Dungeons and Dragons are for f**s

  4. Your local game store is a good place to start - many of them have a bulletin board for local groups recruiting players (and some may have groups that actually play in the store regularly.) If that doesn't help, try dndmeetup or the Yahoo group DnDcontact. If all else fails, try playing online - lots of live play or play by email games.

  5. Right, well apart from being a f*g (which seems to be a prerequisite according to Robert L); you need to somehow familiarise yourself with the rules, be that by purchasing a rulebook (you only really need the Players Handbook to begin with) and reading it cover to cover, or by having someone who knows the game well teach you (definately the easier option).

Finding a game to play with people is sometimes hard, if there is a local gaming shop nearby, you can often look for advertisements or put up one yourself asking for tutoring or a practise game.  The basic rules can be covered in a short space of time and the rest are learnt much easier once you are in the game.

Looking online is an option as well, but your best bet is probably in a store.  Either that or find a whole load of newcomers like yourself and work it out... it is doable.

    Best of luck....
