WHere can I find a good website that tells me about the lingo such as Bogey, Par, Eagle and so on. And a site that tells you all the rules, but in understandable english :-)

One last thing is a link to a good set of clubs with bag and so on, something for beginners but not for a million bucks

Thanks a lot everyone

  1. www.thegolfexpert.com  That will help you with the lingo.

second:go to www.mysimon.com  and type in "golf clubs." You will have a ton of sources.BTW:I might suggest that you check out the hybrid clubs that are coming out and that have become so popular.

I bought a 15-piece set of (top-quality)brand-name clubs(1 hybrid) and bag, on the most popular auction site, and saved myself a few hundred bucks.

Good luck in your new venture.I am 59( a woman) and still eat, breathe and sleep golf, even though I live in a snowy state!

  2. first welcome to the wild wonderful world of golf....as for websites that may help you there are several you can try...www.playgolfamerica.com, www.pga.com, the usga has whole section on rules and there are many books out there that simplify the rules.  As far as a good set of clubs go well there are many places for that too..mastergrip golf makes really good clubs for way cheaper than name brands, ebay has of listings for complete sets starting around 100 dollars and up...I would also suggest looking into getting a lesson or 2 before you start taking your game to a course...good luck to ya

  3. For Golf clubs and bags ,  search E bay, you can get some really nice clubs for a great price.

for websites, again ,, just surf,, there are a lot of  womens sites.. EWG.

but a book would help also..

  4. Golf For Dummies rather than a website

Head to your local Costco for a complete set.

  5. golf.about.com

This is a great beginners resource/

  6. Try big 5 for a beginner set of clubs. The best way to learn the lingo is to play the game. Go out on the course and listen. Go to the range and listen. or ask?
