  1. I have been playing tennis for years and have become very succesful at it. The best thing you can do is have a friend that will hit with you basically whenever. Equiptment wise-don't worry too much about it, to begin with just have a cheap racket from K-Mart or something just to get you started. If there is any program that you can get tennis lessons, go ahead and do that. Most of all just practice, with friends, family, teacher, or a wall.

  2. Start with playing alot with someone you know knows the game. So when you know the game, you can start with lessons. If I were you I would start out with a "Wilson" racket. It's GREAT for beginers. Make sure you have good tennis shoes and wear stuff you can move around in.

  3. Try the local parks and rec department - they have good starter classes that do not impact the budget.  -> equipment have a decent racket but do not go for the latest $$$.  Get last year's (or more) racket  but you could get a k-mart version but do not expect it to last or help your game but good to learn.

  4. First, you should warm up. Play a couple games a week with friends and family at the local park. Make sure you stretch though and drink lots of water. You should buy (optional)- tennis clothes. But you have to buy a pretty nice bat and and some tennisballs. Maybe a professional glove. Have fun. =]

  5. I play tennis year round, but to get started I would hit as much as you can...with anyone, even if you can't find anyone just go and hits serves or something....any racket will work for just beginning and once you get more into it you can find a better one

  6. 1- Tennis racket- Head, Wilson, Dunlop, Prince, Babolat $100

2- Rubber shoes- Nike, Adidas, Reebok $50

    3- T-shirt & shorts- Nike, Adidas $40

    4- Drinks- Gatorade, Evian $5

5- Head bands; Caps- Nike $10

  7. i think the persons above have already answered your question

  8. Well i started tennis the same age as you, and i started out with prince. They way prince racquets are made, they can acess spin a bit easier than the other racquets. I'm 15 now and starting out with that is good. I play second singles in highschool with a microgel radical. Once you learn tennis and have got some topspin down, than you can choose any racquet that you like.
