1) Does e-bay charge you to sell your stuff? if so how much?

2)How often do you update your sale's?

3)Do you sell on e-bay full time or part time?

4)Do you feel that it's worth it?

5) how did you get started?

I'm a stay home mom of 3 boys, I usually sell to a kids store that buy's and sell used clothes, but I think I might make more money if i try selling on e-bay. Thank you!!

  1. Clothing is tricky, take a look on E Bay at the type of items that you might sell and check out the "sold" prices.  ( You will need to set up a free account to do this )  I have had good luck with top name or hard to find items, not so much with average clothing.  Like I made quite a good dollar with Vintage Hawaiian Shirts & JJ Peterman Jackets.

I list my items to sell in 7 days, and do not update unless I have questions.  I sell part time and got started by buying items at estate sales and re selling on E Bay. I have had stuff that does'nt sell and stuff I bought for 25 cents and sold for $125.00.  You should become expert in one to 10 types of items.

You can make $, just be careful of the charges and costs of PayPal etc.

  2. 1. Go here for the official information from eBay regarding fees for sellers:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/question...

I only sell things I do not need or use which is usually a designer handbag.  I do not do this full or part-time.  Only when I need to get rid of something from my closet.

Is it worth it?  Well, yes, if the winning bidder pays you on time.  It is a HASSLE when a winning bidder flakes on you and you have to go thru the trouble of retrieving your final value fee and then relisting the item again on eBay.

Remember to take good clear photos of your item and give good clear and honest description of the item (i.e. size, condition).   Also note if your item is in a smoke and/or pet-free home.  That is important to alot of bidders.  Good luck!

I was an ebay member since its way back in 1997.  I primarily buy things on eBay rather than sell.

  3. I started selling on ebay with laptops..

I came across a deal, 2 laptops for only 500.

So, I kept one and sold one on ebay.

Now, I have an ebay store "The Southern Cellar" and several different items

They do charge a fee for everything you sell - one fee to list it, another fee when it sells (they take a final value % from sale price)

We update them whenever possible, or when we get new items.

IF you ARE going to try to get started on ebay - here is some advice:

OPEN AN EBAY STORE FOR 14.99 A MONTH. IT IS ALOT CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN!!!!

TRUST ME!! Before I opened one, I was paying about 300 dollars a month in fees...now the fees are down by 85%!!!!

    Hope this helps!

  4. Ebay is a great option. It has a small fee for listing and you can do it part time or full time depending on your priorities. Ebay is worth the effort because it is one opportunity that is real. To get started learn how to start selling on ebay.
