Wasn't it a tv series in the 70's?

Do I have to start there? Or did they remake it (in the same sense as the newer Battlestar Galactica series)

  1. Doctor Who has been around since the sixties and ended in the 80's.  It came back in 2005.  If you're interested in watching the new seasons I would start with the first episode from 2005 called "Rose."  You don't have to know all the earlier stuff to follow the new series.  But if you are just interested in the ealier series, you should start from the very beginning with "Unearthly Child."  So, basically.  Think of it as two different series and you don't need to know the first series to understand the second.
