  1. change channel to NBC now, blind fold urself, run outside and chuck the remote, spin around 5 times and go back inside

  2. Well, you shouldn't have to force yourself to watch the sport if you like it. I gained my love for hockey by going to my first game. Ha then you would have to watch it all huh? Nothing will make you fall in love more with a sport then to see it live. Feel the fans passion for their team. The horn that roars when we score, you know. Great place to be. Do some research learn the NHL's history. Get to know the rules and different aspects of the games strategy.

    Hope this helped

    GO BOLTS!

  3. Just realize that scoring is not the only thing that makes a sport exciting.

    In hockey you have:

    - big hits

    - long-lasting non-stop action

    - breakaways

    - beautiful passes and combo passes

    - end-to-end action and it takes only seconds for the play to move that far

    - power play chances

    - short-handed desperate defense

    - short-handed GOALS

    - a chance to yell at the refs for their calls / missed calls and feel a sense of justice when they get it right most of the time

    - huge saves

    - pucks off the post and crossbar

    - goals

    - pretty goals that are artwork and end up on highlight reels

    - ugly goals that make you laugh if your team scores or scream if your team is scored on

    - fights if you are into that

    - hockey pools amongst friends / co-workers once you learn the game and think you can get a good idea how your fantasy team will do

  4. Go to a game, you will have more fun at a live event, then maybe you will like it enough to sit through a game on TV

  5. Play some hockey games, either physically doing it or on your PS3 or what have you. Hockey video games have taught me the different strategies involved and it's not just a bunch of random chaos plays. That's how I overcame my pre-teen ADD anyways...

  6. Just watch the game tonight. If you can not watch w/o changing channel, then hockey is not the sport for you. How can you not watch it is exciting nonstop action, no time outs like football.

  7. Pick a team (red wings) that you would enjoy watching (red wings) and then follow their progress (red wings).  You are a bit late this year to start following hockey (red wings), as there are only 2 games left before it is decided who wins the Cup (red wings).   Hockey (red wings) will start back up in September (red wings) and you can start watching then (red wings).  There are some awesome teams (red wings) out there and you need to pick a team (red wings) that is televised in your area (red wings).

I'm so sorry.....I'm not sure why my computer keeps typing (red wings) all over the place.  Obviously our household  are Red Wing fans and its catching!  No matter who you choose, you should do a little homework on the rules and regulations of the game so you understand what you are watching.  Enjoy (red wings).  Darn it, there it goes again!

  8. take a nap inbetween periods if you must, the action is the best of any sport out there. welcome to our close-knit fraternity .. but next year try and watch a game live. it's so much better when you're at the arena itself

  9. watch it...and pick a team that u want to win....how cant u get into to it....its nonstop action...checking hitting fighting shooting....playmaking its awesome

  10. Try watching the game with someone who is really into the sport. This should give you a better understanding of the game and force you to watch the whole thing.

  11. take the batteries out of the remote, find a team who can follow and like.  Players you can identify with

  12. Any sport (I don't care what it is) can be watched with enthusiasm as long as you have someone to root for.

    Pick a team: http://www.nhl.com/

Learn the rules of the game: http://www.nhl.com/rules/index.html

Get familiar with the players: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&...

    Stay up to date: http://www.thehockeynews.com/

  13. Better luck next year. the season will end tonight...

  14. Start watching tonights game it should be intense. I admit some games get boring (not many) but some. tonites game should be intense and should really get you into hockey. If you dont like it dont force yourself to, it may not be your sport to watch. If you read up on some rules (yea its boring) but it will give you a better explanation and understanding of the game. also watch it with someone that usualy watches it and they can explain things for you.

  15. Well, the real experience comes from actually play hockey, either roller, inline, street, ice, whatever.  Learn more about the game first.

  16. Start by watching the Red Wings demolish the Penguins tonight, yada yada yada

Otherwise, you'll have to wait a few more months to start watching.

  17. i think that you should find a team that is really big were you live and then try to watch the games like you can watch the game but when its intermission you can change the channel 4 like 20 min.
