I want to stay at Benfica with Oscar Cardozo, says http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Saviola-c18090 – Portuguese Primeira Liga News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 forward, Javier Saviola, has denied all knowledge of a transfer and has reiterated his desire to stay with Benfica and play alongside his Paraguayan teammate Oscar Cardozo at the club.
The attacker was in superb form last season and managed to notch a decent tally of 14 goals in 46 appearances in the 2010/2011 campaign. With his experience of playing at the highest level in Europe and predatory scoring instincts, Saviola was reportedly
being monitored by QPR and clubs in the Middle East.
However, the 29-year-old has quelled all rumours of him leaving Benfica and said that he wants to continue playing at Estadio da Luz alongside his teammate Oscar Cardozo.
“Cardozo is very quiet. He is with me today and we are currently in the present. But you never know about the future, but i would of course like to stay at Benfica and play with him.”
“Me and Cardozo understand each other very well, we also have a good team and with Gaitan, are here to do our utmost for the benefit of the team,” said the former River Player front man.
Although the striker mainly plays upfront alongside Cardozo in matches, in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, he was drafted as a lone striker, a position which he claims that he can adapt to.
"It is a new position for me that i played in last year but i never performed well in it. But it necessary to adapt and I think we got a good result. It is all about strategies and results.” He concluded.
After cruising past Trabzonspor, Benfica are likely to face stern opposition against a bigger club but Saviola remains confident that his team can progress and is focused on the next match.
While the former Real Madrid man is wanted by QPR and the clubs in the lucrative UAR Pro League, it is highly unlikely that he will part ways with the Reds, especially when he is still capable of playing alongside his Paraguayan friend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 Cardozo, at
the highest level in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984.
