I want to stay at Manchester United: Darron Gibson
Manchester United mid-fielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darron-Gibson-c10368 has once again reiterated his stance that he has no intentions of leaving Old Trafford. The Irish international is upbeat that he can fight for a first-team place and become an important component of the team.
Gibson said: “I want to stay at Manchester United,
“I can see where Trapattoni’s coming from. If I’m playing every week he’s going to get the best out of me when I play for Ireland but at the moment I’ve got no ideas of moving anywhere else.”
He explained: “It’s something I thought about before I started playing,
“There were players leaving but I think I was always confident I could break into the team. I ended up doing that and I was lucky because not many players do break in.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovanni-c14985 Trapattoni suggested him to leave United in search for regular football. The Italian tactician has been praiseful of Gibson’s talent and said that he needs more first-team football to improve on his weaknesses.
Gibson revealed that he considered quitting United before making a professional debut for the club, but has now set his sights on a long term stay at the Theatre of Dreams. Gibson noted that many players have left the club in frustration of not playing on
a regular basis, but he firmly believes he can break into the first team.
The 24-year-old believes that he has still a long way to go and will keep his head down and work hard to become a need for the club. He added that he is under immense pressure to perform and prove his worth to play week in and week out.
Gibson emerged from Manchester United’s youth ranks in 2004 and has played only 53 games for the club since then. He has also scored nine goals in the United’s shirt. Gibson has been a part of the squad that won the Premier League and Champion’s league titles
in 2007/08 and 2008/09.
He has scored some important goals for the club, including a brace he scored against Tottenham Hotspur during the semi-final of the League cup in 2009.
