I want to stop being a vegetarian. How do I tell my parents?

They were opposed to it the whole time and I feel like they are going to laugh at me and judge me if I want to eat meat again.

Well, you should think carefully about why you wanted to be a vegetarian in the first place and why you want to stop. That should give you clarity. Your family parents shouldn't laugh or mock you; that's not cool. If they do, do your best to forget about it and find support elsewhere.

Sorry it didn't work out for you, but good job for having tried to stick with it for awhile. At least now you know. :-)

Just tell them.  If they say I told you so, say ok and move on.  This was just a test of what you realy want and believe to do and changed your mind.  Your entitled to changing your mind.

just be honest with them,you tried it and it's just not working for you!My parents where the same way about it!Just try eating meat 2-3 times a week and see how that works for you.And I'm sure they will still support you what ever you may decide.[even if you might not think so]

try to explain that you'll still maintain a healthy lifestyle if that is true. If you are going to eat meat and all the other junk that goes with it, you're making a big mistake and they are just trying to look after your nutritional needs.

Just tell them you don't want to be a vegetarian anymore.  You're a kid and kids change their minds all the time.  The only problem is they may not take your decisions in the future very seriously.  They will think you a flip flopper who can't stand beside your decision.  You can count on them bringing it up for the rest of your life.

Please go to www.meat.org before you go back to eating meat.  If you can eat meat without guilt after seeing it, then you were never suited for a vegetarian lifestyle.

if your parents are vegetarian for the sake of animals, theywill probably not want to look at your  meat. so if you really want to eat meat, you'll have to buy it, and cook it yourself.

Well, being a vegetarian can be a healthy choice, but most families do it for other reasons.

Talk with your family about your feelings.  Surely they won't laugh at you and if they try to judge you, here is a scripture that you can use:

1 Timothy 4, 3-5:  "They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat meat, even though God gave these things to well-taught Christians to enjoy and be thankful for.  For everything God made is good, and we may eat it gladly if we are thankful for it, and if we ask God to bless it, for it is made good by the Word of God and prayer."

So if God says it is okay to eat meat, then hopefully your parents will to.  And if they are still against your choice, then in a few years when you are out on your own, you can exercise your freedom of choice.  In the meantime, being a vegetarian will not harm you and it is probably a small price to pay to keep peace in your family until you grow up and leave home.  

Maybe they will compromise and  let you eat meat when you are out with your friends or over at someone else's house.  Good luck!
