I run a small business and have encountered a really difficult customer. I am getting horrible mail full of libellous comments and demands for money which are utterly unreasonable. I would like to stop her sending this material. Any suggestions other than a Lawyers

  1. tear up the letters as they come to you, you must recognise the envelope or her writing etc.

  2. i wouldnt throw them a way i would take them to the police or ask for a officer to come to your business or home and discuss the matter further  this person who is sending you mail is seriously treading on thin ice for sending thease letters it is harrasment and can be stopped speaking to the police they may very well take action on your behalf

  3. Go to the Police with all of the letters in hand and file a harassment charge.

Then it's the Police's problem from there on in.

Heck, take the letters to a Police Station and get a restraining order.

Then she legally cannot send you any more letters.

  4. call a legal adviser as this would be the best bet

libel has to be dealt with in court and if when won't stop then you

need to get a legal injunction to cease and desist

  5. Nope - a quick note to a lawyer to issue a Cease and Desist order will be necessary.

She's breaking the law. That's what lawyers are for.

  6. Talk to the local police.  Get a restraining order.  Save those letters for evidence.  You should have no difficulty getting the restraining order if they're as bad as you say, especially if they sound like extortion or threats of physical harm.  Good luck.  ^..^

  7. Send her a virus through mail....

  8. why not contact the police. she is trying to intimidate you!

  9. Write back and request that the letters stop, otherwise you will take legal action, that usually stops them.

Or just refuse to pay up and stop reading the letters, eventually they'll get the message.

I would keep all the letters in a file somewhere though, in case you do have to take legal action, or in case it starts getting really nasty and you need to get the police involved. In fact, I would probably go down to the station, and get them involved anyway, as it sounds like she is harassing you.

  10. That's harassment, send her a message asking that individual to cease and desist. If he or she continues, file in small claims court for harassment.

  11. tell the police or your dad

  12. Just return them back to sender unopened.

  13. file a police report

keep all of the mail as evidence

    she is harassing you

  14. Ignore them by sticking them in the bin. You aren't compelled to read them.

  15. When you see her writing on the envelope don't open it. Write "Not known at this address" across the front and write PLEASE RETURN TO SENDER and her address on the envelope. Then post it without putting another stamp on it. She will soon get the message.
