I already have university experience and will be getting my General Studies A.A in spring 2009/fall 2010 in the states. I am an American, but not only do I want to study in London, I want to finish my education while I'm there because moving to England is my lifetime goal.

How would I go about studying in london first? Financially will be difficult because i'm not exactly the person who has loads and loads of money. Especially when the exchange rate is $2 for a £1.

help! thanks in advanced!

  1. Hey,

I must have answered this question many times, lol.

I do not mean to be rude, as I don't know if you have travelled to London before, but you're jumping the gun with wanting to move and finsh your education if you haven't visited. Now, that being said, here's what you need to do:

In applying to a university in London, you must submit an application, letters of recommendation, final highschool/college transcripts, personal essay, sample writing depending on subject, resume. If you get accepted, you will be given a conditional offer meaning you need to graduate with a certain GPA in-order to satisfy the condition.

You must then apply and get a passport. Upon getting your passport, you need a syudent visa/entry clearance. For this you must submit an application, application fee, unconditional offer acceptance letter, license agreement accommodation form, passport - old and new, biometric - fingerprints and photos, extra photo, proof of funds covering total cost of tuition and accommodation.

As you said, London is very, very expensive. The British Pound is indeed worth double and being an international student means paying international rates. You need enough money for tuition, accommodation, airfare, food, books, spending money, travel for subway and buses and so on. I'm obtaining my Master's Degree and it is about $32,000/yr. Again, it's really expensive, so you need to really want to do this.

    Good Luck!!!
