I like how the girls look in this certain country in which I would like to study for at university for one year before I start my real studies here. How do I go about finding information about if there are any programs available?

  1. You can be a high school exchange student.

With most agencies you can qualify if you are 19 at the oldest by the time of departure. Many students do this for their gap year, and although they are required to go to a local high school they don't worry much about their grades because they have already graduated and they don't count.

In my group in Chile, most of the students were 18, me being one of the youngest at 16.

You can try Rotary, a non-profit organization that may be able to sponsor you, cutting the average fees of other programs that specialize in youth exchange (around 8-11 thousand dollars) in half.  Look up your local Rotary club and ask about their youth exchange program. ( I went with Rotary by the way).

The next agency I would suggest trying is AFS; only because its the only other agency that I know friends who have gone through it. It seems pretty popular right now too.  You can find many youth exchange programs by searching the internet.

If you are open to doing things besides studying, you can intern, volunteer, work, or teach English abroad. Below are links to some programs.

Hope you find what you are looking for!
