I am pretty confused as to whether Barcelona is on a swimmable beach, or close to it. Anyone have any insight?

  1. In Barcelona a lot of Spaniards speak English and if you try to converse and they guess you are English then they tend to speak in English.  It would be better to go to an area where less English is spoken such as Murcia, more English is spoken in Alicante.

As well as formal studying you will need to practice in real life situations with the Spanish people, then the language will really start to stick.

  2. Barcelona is a great place, its got a little bit of everything. beautiful beaches, lots of history, great food, night life is awesome.

Also, another place I found very enjoyable was Seville.  Its near the beaches, like Cadiz, and again wonderful food and plenty of night life and also you can go learn how to do the local dance, the Flamenco! Ole!

  3. Your education is more important than the beach. The beach will be a distraction. Go to the best university with consideration to your subject that you are learning. The beach will still be there when you have your degree.

  4. Barcelona is on beach

  5. barcelona is a perfect city and its on a beach, although its crowded and there´s sometimes jellyfish scares, but other than that its a great place :-p
