I am black and my parents are worried that they won't be accepting of black people over there. The school i will be going to is in Montreux. On the weekends we will be traveling to Paris, Florence,Venice, and Rome. Do you think I will have a problem dealing with the people there?

  1. I actually know a black Swiss person! She seems pretty well adjusted to me! The key for you will be language. You will find the Swiss are a lot more tolerant of our unavoidable American accents than the French are!

I'm not going to say there will be NO prejudice, but no more so than any where else and a lot less than other places!

Good luck and have a great time!

  2. No, you will get along fine, especially if you learn French and a little German.

  3. Girl i keep telling you, NOOOOOOOOOOOO! LOL, actually scratch that. I will say go and have fun. I mean this might be your only opportunity to experience something so unique like that. I think it's an experience that you will never regret or forget. Please there is prejudice and racism EVERYWHERE, we experience enough share of it here in America so i am sure you can survive over there. Just go there, work hard, beat everybody in everything to show them that African Americans are smart and have s*x with some strange boy, you know you will never see him again just don't get knocked up. Just tell your mom that you know that she loves you and is looking out for your best interest, BUT you really want to study in Switzerland. Girl it would look amazing on your resume, plus the experience with working and studying with people internationally different from you is not something that every job application have. So WHAT THE h**l, GO FOR IT. Just video tape you having wide s*x so that i can die laughing over here ^_~.
