  1. You can major in anything in college. I was a chem major with a bio and art history double minor.

You just have to take 2 semesters of biology, 2 semesters of general chemistry, 2 semesters of organic chem, 2 semesters of calculus based physics, and 2 semesters of calculus.

Med schools like to see variety in their students. Not just a science nerd.

  2. A counselor at the school will be able to guide you through a plan to get you there, but pOsitiv3p is right, definitely biology!

  3. the ape man is right.

To go to medical school, you need to have a bachelor's (or better) degree, and take the science courses ape man listed.   Your degree can be in ANYTHING (mine's in psych), as long as you take the required courses to prepare you for medical school.

There is no such thing as a "pre-med" major, and an awful lot of "pre-med" students never make it to medical school.

As far as choosing a specialty, that is something to think about when you've finished college and are halfway through medical school.

  4. You want to do biology - thats what they call pre med
